I’m Venessa Gutierrez, a life-long Lockhart resident, small business owner, and community advocate running for Lockhart City Council District 2, because I believe our local government should work for the people who live here - not around them.

District 2 is my home. It’s where I’ve built my business, formed lasting relationships, and become deeply involved in the well-being of our neighborhoods. From longtime residents to new families, I hear the same concerns again and again - growth that feels rushed, infrastructure that needs attention, and a desire for our elected officials to be more responsive and approachable. Those conversations are what have inspired me to run.

I believe effective leadership starts with listening. City Council should reflect the lived experiences of District 2 residents and make decisions that protect all neighborhoods while planning responsibly for the future.

I believe leadership should be rooted in service. With my grassroots perspective shaped by real-world experience, community involvement, and a deep love for this town, I believe collaboration is how we move forward.
